چکیده
The effects of pretreatment method of cow dung compost, which was employed as natural hydrogen bacteria source, on the microbial community, population distribution of microbes and hydrogen production potential were investigated in the batch tests. The maximum hydrogen yield of 290.8 mL/L-culture appeared in the pretreated method A (infrared drying) by dark fermentation. The pretreated method of compost significantly affected microbial succession, population distribution of microbes. Both Clostridium sp. and Enterobacter sp. were found to be two species of preponderant hydrogen-producing bacteria, the next best was Bacteroides sp. and Veillonella sp., the last was Lactobacillus sp. and Streptococcus sp., which were also essential. The results showed that the mutualism and symbiosis relations of the mixed bacteria played a critical role in hydrogen fermentation process. Copyright a 2012, Hydrogen Energy Publications, LLC. The Effects of Use Medicinal Plants on Rumen Fermentation Parameters in Ruminants
Rumen is a persistent and specific ecosystem consists of bacteria, protozoa and fungus where feed fermentation takes place in it. Produced Hydrogen in rumen can be used in the synthesis of the volatile fatty acids and the microbial protein and its excess would be eliminated through the production of Methane by methanogenesis. Nutritionists have tried to find ways to decrease loss and energy and...

متن کاملBio-hydrogen production from waste materials
Hydrogen is a valuable gas as a clean energy source and as feedstock for some industries. Therefore, demand on hydrogen production has increased considerably in recent years. Electrolysis of water, steam reforming of hydrocarbons and auto-thermal processes are well-known methods for hydrogen gas production, but not cost-effective due to high energy requirements. Biological production of hydroge...

Experimental designs were applied for optimizing media and process parameters for hydrogen production from maize stalk hydrolyzate by a newly isolated facultative strain.Plackett-Burman design was used to identify the significant components and using this method the media components - glucose, yeast extract, malt extract, peptone, and NaCl were identified as signi...
متن کاملDark Hydrogen Fermentation From Paper Mill Effluent (PME): The influence of Substrate Concentration and Hydrolysis
Paper mill effluent (PME) was used as an organic feedstock for production of biohydrogen via dark fermentation using heat-shock pretreated anaerobic sludge under mesophilic conditions. The influence of substrate concentration (5, 10 and 15 g-COD/L) and the initial pH (5 and 7) on the efficiency of dark hydrogen fermentation from PME were investigated. The highest hydrogen yield of 55.4 mL/g-COD...
